CASTANOS HOUSE

Just outside of Buenos Aires, architects Ekaterina Künzel and María Belén García Bottazzini have created a contemporary family dwelling. The Castanos House is formed by a rectangular concrete volume perched on four legs. The ground floor is clad mostly in glazing, giving the illusion that the second story is floating above the landscape.

Interior spaces are organized around a central courtyard with the main living areas occupying the ground floor and the bedrooms above. Walls of glazing keep both levels visually connected to the courtyard while also allowing rooms to flow freely to outdoor patios and terraces.
