1958 MERCEDES-BENZ 300 SL ROADSTER

The 300 SL Gullwing gets all the attention, but the 300 SL Roadster — developed directly from the Gullwing as a more user-friendly car — is nearly as exciting. The long, low shape, incredible 3-liter inline-six, and road-hugging suspension are all there. What's not, of course, is the gullwing doors. In their place are a convertible top, conventional swing-out egress points, and lower barrier to entry — although as one of the world's greatest automobiles, they certainly aren't cheap.

This 1958 300 SL Roadster has a history that can be traced to its being delivered new to Paris, France. The last 44 years have been spent in static storage, where it was fitted with the correct engine and still retains its original leather interior and sought-after Rudge wheels. This car will be auctioned online with no reserve.
